In a remarkable display of leadership and initiative, Inspector Idrissa Koroma of the Operational Support Division (OSD) in Waterloo has spearheaded a series of infrastructure and sanitation projects aimed at improving working conditions and strengthening security operations within the division.
Speaking to this medium, he confirmed that a newly constructed two rooms flush toilets facilities, Inspector Koroma emphasized the importance of hygiene and structural development in enhancing police effectiveness and public safety. “Toilet facilities are very important, but often neglected,” he said. “If a toilet is not decent, it can lead to many sicknesses. That is why, when I came here, I made toilet maintenance a priority.”
With the support of the Local Unit Commander, the Support Officer, and his colleagues, Inspector Koroma successfully constructed two modern flush toilet rooms one designated for the OSD and the other for the main division. The project, he said, was part of his broader commitment to maintaining a healthy and dignified environment for officers.
He also gave praised to the Director of OSD, who formerly headed the Waterloo Division and initiated the construction of the arms and ammunition store. “When I took over, I decided to build on his good leadership by improving the structure adding more doors, tiles, and making it more standard than before,” Inspector Koroma noted.
Currently, the division is undertaking another major project the construction of a modern guard post at the main entrance of the police post. The new post will serve as a checkpoint to regulate access, ensure proper screening of visitors, and enhance overall security. “As the gateway to the capital, we must maintain control and vigilance,” he explained.
Inspector Koroma praised the Inspector General of Police, the Director of Operations, and the Regional Commander for their unwavering support, which he said has strengthened the division’s operational capacity. “We have no problem in terms of manpower. Our collaboration with sister security forces is strong, and we are fully on top of the situation in Waterloo,” he assured.
He concluded by reaffirming the division’s commitment to maintaining peace and security. “The people of Waterloo are highly protected. We are ready at any time to respond to any situation.
