Professor Foday Sahr Gives an update on his Agency’s Efforts to Tackle Public Health Matters

Executive Director of National Public Health Agency, Brig. Prof. Foday Sahr, updated his agency ‘s efforts in solving public health matters. He made this statement at the Ministry of Information Weekly Press Briefing at the Miatta Conference Centre.Executive Director of National Public Health Agency, Brig.Prof. Sahr said April last year president Bio established the emergency and set up treatment and care on all public health matters. He said in the psychiatric hospital the hospital had treated five thousand victims and the majority of whom are kush and drug victims.

He posited the agency’s effort in establishing three regional treatment centres and the Makeni’s centre is in a near completion.
Professor Foday Sahr said they had made a series of jingles translated into local languages of Sierra Leone that the average Sierra Leoneans could understand.
He reaffirmed their team’s commitment to visiting fifty schools and three public universities, which raised campaign and awareness against kush and other drug addictions.
The Executive Director said the kush and drug issues are not only happening in Sierra Leone but also happening in other countries and Sierra Leone stands and ranks the lowest.
“Professor Foday Sahr also pointed his agency unwavering commitment to fighting both the treatment and the supply chain of drugs transportation,” he registered.
