The move by the Sierra Leone Standard Bureau to introduce to the market a new measurement formula has been rejected vehemently by a cross section of market women who claimed that they were not properly educated by the Bureau.
‘We were taken by surprise the  institution as we were not properly educated on this new formula ‘ some of the market women whoi spoke to this medium stated
This came in the wake of criticisms by the opposition Whip
Hon. Abdul Karim Kamara  who stated in no uncertain terms that the in efficiency of the SLSB in monitoring commodities imported into the country is the result of the many illness and untimely deaths across the country
The MP who was making his contribution in the Well during the approval of various appointees  said the  Standard Bureau is failing to perform the duty  for which it was created, to monitor and asses goods and commodities the worthiness of goods  and services on a daily basis.
Hon. Abdul Kargbo   further registered his disappointment over what he referred to as the manner in which the institution is reneging on its duty and by extension referred to it as being a ‘death trap’
He further claimed that  even sachet water is not well purified by the institution  and  as a result of that citizens have been diagnosed with diseases like liver and lungs damage whenever they go for check-ups in hospitals for he  encouraged approved Board Members and the head of the institution to brace up their line of duty.
He said most diseases   people are diagnosed with is as a result of what they consume   whilst urging the cooperation of the Consumer Protection Agency to partner with the SLSB by sending its officers on the streets .

SLCAA lays the Facts bare on 5N –BZZ Flight
The Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority (SLCAA)  has in a press statement  lays  the facts bare on Aircraft with Nigerian registration :5N- BZZ stating that the Aircraft in question was involved what the authority referred to as a ‘ runway excursion accident in May this year, whilst operating for Xejet Airline in Nigeria
According to the release, a runway excursion refers to an accident where an aircraft veers off the runway during landing or takeoff, or fails to remain on the designated landing strip.
The preliminary report released by the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau(NSIB) indicates the following , that theb incident was a runway excursion , that there was no fatalities or injuries serious or minor , that there was no damage to the flight   among others
The Authority   therefore accuses that the said flight has undergone scheduled maintenance   checks in South Africa and has successfully completed its Airworthiness inspections by the Nigerian CAA (The State of Registry)
