Minister of State in the Office of the Vice President, Manty Tarawallie,  on Tuesday 8th October, 2024 said the flagship program of the government cannot be  successful  without the contribution of the  energy sector . She made this statement during the weekly Ministry of Information Press Conference at Tower Hill in Freetown. Madam Manty said the ‘Feed Salone’  will become prosperous through the contribution of the energy sector and that is the more reason government was pushing for the Compact to ensure that there is a boost in the energy sector to actualize the dream of the government’s  flagship program.

She continued  by stating   that when the ruling party came to power in 2018, the president believed that the MCC must contribute to his government, and with the astute leadership of the Vice President, Dr. Mohamed  Juldeh Jalloh who has garnered adverse experience in public policy, Civil Society Organization   and being also a lecturer of public university, he singlehandedly won the fight of the MCC.

She underscored the great role played by the Vice President through his one by one working visit to various ministries to ensure that all of them contribute to the passing grade of the government MCC scorecard. She promised that they will continue to work towards the minimum threshold to ensure that they continue to win the MCC compact.

She further encouraged citizens to believe in the country, she recalled on the role Sierra Leone took to head and address 52 countries and also led a clarion call made by Rwanda to help them in the fight against the outbreak of the Mpox which Sierra Leone as a country sent twenty medical personnel to help in the fight. She   ended by saying that Sierra Leone stands at a better   position from which growth other countries can replicate.
