Including the , Senior District. Officer in Kono and Councilors of Kono. district Council to inform them about the last meeting held by officials from the Ministry of Finance on how the Chiefdom Council and Kono District Council would partner in their Revenue. Mobilization drive in the district ,

In his opening remarks Chairman. Sheiku highlighted the importance of the meeting stating that Kono District Council is ready to save its people adding , they are a trustee for the people ;so today they would like to inform the paramount Chief of Council’s commitment towards the development of the District  .

He told the Paramount Chiefs that the Council has bought working tools for all the Councilors and even to the Chiefdom level explaining that  non resident Councillors  have made provision to appoint somebody who may act as Councillor and will.in turn inform them on the needs of the people , He further told the Paramount Chief that Council has just concluded a needs assessment in the Chiefdom and they have captured the needs of the people and after being inputed, they will invite Paramount Chiefs and other stakeholders for the validation of the document and after this is done, they can now use it as a working document for the District.

He appealed to all Paramount Chiefs to forget about what has been going on in.the past and assured them of collective collaboration in making sure their money is used wisely and shared among the. respective Chiefdoms and he disclosed of going to Bo to sign a performance Contract.once he returned back he will sign the same performance. Contract with all the Paramount Chiefs in the District .
Senior District Officer. Kono District said the Paramount Chiefs are in agreementnto work with the Council in collecting revenue but mentioned some issues that have been happening before which have made them not to agree with Council to collect revenue in their Chiefdoms because all the monies being collected by various Contactors of Council to carry out the revenue mobilization were not paid back and the Chiefdom’s percentage was not given back .

Paramount Chief. Alhaja Kongbor thanked Chairman Sheiku for his wisdom in calling on all Paramount Chiefs describing the day as  historic in the era of Kono District Council ,,He also commented on the Lion Park who was working with Council to collect their revenue in the District and after collection the Chiefdoms were left empty without given them a single cent to carry out development but assured the Chairman of Kono District Council their total support and cooperation.Valuation. Officer of Council disclosed to Chairman and Paramount Chief of Kono that come Monday Council will start carrying out demand Notice which money will be deposited into an account .
